NEW YORK (September 5, 2017)  Connectiv, the Business Information Association, today announced that Association Media & Publishing (AM&P) is now part of its organization, following a merger approved by both groups. AM&P has become a division of Connectiv, and will be an important part of the organization’s mission to foster innovation and collaboration by bringing together leading content, technology and data companies.

The merger became effective on August 31, 2017, following unanimous approval by both the AM&P and the Connectiv boards of directors. Mike Marchesano, Connectiv’s Managing Director, will also take the role of Managing Director for AM&P. AM&P will operate independently, with managerial oversight from Marchesano and others at Connectiv.

“Connectiv and SIIA are committed to using our organizational experience and industry leadership to advance the unique interests of business information companies,” said Marchesano. “AM&P is a great fit with our mission to accelerate innovation and collaboration. As part of our team, AM&P members will have access to new services and opportunities, and our skilled sales team will help increase AM&P’s footprint, membership and sponsorships. In addition, AM&P members will benefit from the extensive networking and learning services available to our member companies.”

The AM&P board of directors will be retained, and will become an advisory board serving as a liaison between Connectiv and AM&P membership. Joe Vallina, CAE, MBA, MSM, President of AM&P and Director, Product Management of the American Nurses Association, and Larry Hoffer, Vice President of AM&P, and President of the Woodworking Machinery Industry Association, will join the Connectiv board of directors. The AM&P annual meeting, conference/ exhibition and EXCEL Award program will continue to operate under the stewardship of AM&P.

This new structure will ensure continued growth and will give AM&P the resources to provide exciting new benefits to our members.
